David Appleby Engineering becomes exclusive European Distributor for VelocityAP


David Appleby Engineering & VelocityAP have agreed to a deal which sees the Aston Martin Racing partner team become VelocityAP’s exclusive European distributor for their Aston Martin products, as well as a preferred distributor across other marques.


VelocityAP’s Stuart Dickinson: “We have enjoyed a very close working relationship with David Appleby Engineering for some time now, which this deal serves to further strengthen.  By committing to substantial stock-holding of VelocityAP products in the UK, DAE will be able to provide faster and more comprehensive service and delivery to all our European customers. 


Our new Canadian base of operations has driven down production costs on many of our products, so this exclusive arrangement will also see much more competitive pricing for UK & European customers.  We look forward to seeing the brand continue to expand in this market.”


DAE’s James Appleby: “This deal has been a long time coming, Stuart and ourselves have put together a deal which will be great for all our customers going forwards. We will always carry stock of the products so we can react to demand and send out on a next day service - alternatively we will book the customer in as soon as the workshop workload allows! I am really looking forward to strengthening our position as the world leader in Independent Aston Martin Upgrades.”






















Macmillan Racing will make its British GT4 Championship debut under the Generation AMR Macmillan Racing banner this season with teenage driver duo Jack Mitchell and Matty Graham.


The team has entered a 2016-spec Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT4 featuring all-new seven–speed gearbox and aerodynamics after joining forces with David Appleby Engineering whose Aston Martin Racing Partner Team will also field an entry for Generation AMR SuperRacing.


Macmillan’s Silver-rated driver line-up is a strong one thanks to a mix of junior sportscar and single-seater experience.


Mitchell was crowned Ginetta Junior champion in 2014 before contesting rounds of last season’s Renault Clio Cup and Mini Challenge, while former world karting champion Graham has entered Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and NEC over the past two seasons.


And the 19-year-old, who also finished fourth in 2013’s BRDC Formula 4 Championship, is looking forward to his GT transition.


“I'm really excited that I've been given the opportunity to race with Macmillan Racing in the British GT Championship driving their Aston Martin Vantage GT4,” said Graham. “I tested the Aston Martin with the team and felt comfortable with the car and with them.


“GT4 will be a different experience for me as I have been racing single-seaters but I felt immediately comfortable in the car which in turn led to a productive test day. I'm looking forward to working with the team and my team-mate Jack Mitchell, and believe that we will be a competitive pairing.”


Co-driver Mitchell added that the building blocks for a successful season were already in place.


“This is such a great chance for me,” said the 17-year-old. “GT Racing is where I want to build my career. We had such a great test last week and I am looking forward to working with Matty. The whole team is really experienced and I am sure we can achieve success together.”


Macmillan Racing was created and founded by David Macmillan, together with Richard Dencer and commercial partner Simon Sanderson. The team has been set up with the aim of developing young, talented drivers and engineers through a ladder programme from GT4 and GT3 to GTE and on to Le Mans.


“Our focus is on the team to develop future GT talent; both drivers and engineers,” said Macmillan. “I am delighted to welcome our first young guns, Jack Mitchell and Matty Graham. We have exciting plans in place; come and join the ride as we work towards our Le Mans dream.”


The team has secured commercial partnerships with Dickies Workwear, SuperCar Finance and IWI Watches.


 


DAE helps Brandon & Lewis James to successful completion of  the Cambrian Rally



Long term friend and customer Brandon James recently brought his Mk2 Escort Rally car to us for pre rally preparation for the 2014 Cambrian Rally based in Llandudno, North Wales. Brandon had his son Lewis co-driving for the first time and the pairing worked faultlessly to bring the car home without a scratch on it in a field were 30% of the cars that started failed to finish.


Brandon had the following to say, ‘We finished. Having had a mechanical retirement in the same event last year we were very pleased with a finish. This event was also the first for Lewis navigating. He did a good job, very proud. Big thanks to David and James Appleby for taking care of everything before, during and after the rally, it would not have been possible without your help.’

DAE complete end of season rebuild of customers Mitsubishi Evo 6 Rally Car



DAE has recently completed the end of season rebuild of Mark Coopers Mitsubishi Evo 6 Rally Car. We completed a front and rear end overhaul of the car including a huge selection of new parts. We also repainted the underneath of the car and rebuilt major drive train components. The car will now be shaken down and tested ready for the start of the season in the new year.


Latest Pricing Structure on RS Fabrications V8 Vantage Exhausts


DAE in combination with RS Fabrications have announced a new pricing structure to their V8 Vantage exhaust systems, giving an overall reduction of 20% in the cost of the products to the customer.


The Stage III equal length manifold and cats are now available at a fitted price of £4,950.00 + VAT. Ceramic coating for the manifolds is available at a cost of £500.00 + VAT. ECU Tune is available at £837.00 + VAT

DAE returns to Aston Martin GT4 Racing



David Appleby Engineering returns to the British GT paddock in 2016 with two brand new top specification GT4 race cars. The cars are run under two seperate names, Generation AMR SuperRacing & Generation AMR MacMillan Racing.


The Banbury-based squad is no stranger to the Vantage having campaigned it in various series and guises since 2010.


The name ‘SuperRacing’ refers to British GT rookie Holder’s connection with the clothing brand Superdry, which he co-founded and remains design director for. Meanwhile George comes into the team having coached Holder at Base Performance Simulators over the past six months.


2016 will be Holder’s first season of racing any form of car and, understandably given the highly competitive nature of British GT4, views it as very much a learning experience.


“We are extremely proud to be competing in this season’s British GT Championship,” he said. “We have a dedicated team with a winning heritage behind us who share our determination to race strongly and succeed. We expect our first season to be a steep learning curve and are using it to build a solid foundation for future class wins for the SuperRacing Team.”


Co-driver George spent his formative years karting but has since carved a niche as the Base Performance Simulators technician and coach overseeing the development of sportscar and single-seater drivers. 2016 will be his first year of GT racing.


“I am looking forward to racing alongside James in the forthcoming British GT Championship,” said George. “James and I have been working closely together for the last six months and have forged a great partnership that we look forward to developing even further on the track. I am both proud and excited to be a part of the future of the SuperRacing Team.”


Team owner David Appleby added: “It will be Holder’s first season racing so we want to make sure he learns what is required to be competitive going forward. He is a driven and focused individual, as you would expect, so I know he will push himself whilst still enjoying what a great championship British GT has become.


“James and Matthew work well together with Matthew having coached him on the Base Performance GT simulator. The GT4 Aston Martin is the perfect car for James and Matthew’s first year racing together; reliable, safe and fast.”

 

















David Appleby Engineering heads for the Abu Dhabi sun to compete in the Gulf 12hr Race


David Appleby Engineering under the Generation AMR SuperRacing banner will be competing in this years Abu Dhabi based Gulf 12hr Race with a brand new Aston Martin GT4.


The team of drivers taking on the challenge will be the normal Generation AMR SuperRacing lineup of James Holder (GB) & Matthew George (GB), they will be joined by 2016 Britcar production GT Championship winner Chris Murphy (GB) & Dubai based creventic racing stalwart Sam Taheri (IR).


The team will be using their brand new Aston Martin GT4 which the received from Aston Martin Racing only days before the container left. “We had time to shakedown and test the car then managed to squeeze in the wrapping of the car in its special Abu Dhabi livery - which I think looks stunning, no pictures until its released from its container though I’m afraid!”, commented Team Principle, James Appleby.


DAE have been campaigning the Aston Martin GT4 since 2010 but this will be their first long distance endurance event in the car, which is amazing really as the car is so well suited to this type of event. It is relatively easy to drive at a fast pace, reliable and most importantly safe.
