One of DAE’s longest standing partnerships has been with Brian James Trailers, going back to the early days of both businesses.
Lewis James, CEO and grandson of Brian James has a close working relationship with James Appleby as well as a shared interest in motorsport. Like him, he also has the experience of working in a family run business.
‘We have huge respect for DAE’, says Lewis. ‘Their values of precision, quality and innovation as well as designing and manufacturing a premium product closely match our own.’ Brian James Trailers was the first company to create an enclosed car transporter and still dominate in this sector with their Race Transporters being used for motorsport, automotive logistics and classic & exotic car transport.
When we moved from Brackley to Somerset, the need for safe and secure vehicle transport was essential. Customers want their cars collected and returned whether it be for service, tuning or modification. We were one of the first customers of the new Race Transporter 7, launched in January 2024 with innovations that include a powered rear loading door, lightweight chassis and composite floor.
‘The advantages of using an enclosed car transporter are that a car can be delivered clean and dry in the condition it leaves DAE,’ says James Appleby ‘with the added reassurance and security of the car inside being hidden from prying eyes.’
The trailer is now used extensively to transport customer cars from as far afield as Scotland and France to and from the factory in Somerset.
Like DAE, Brian James Trailers is growing its business and now export around 65% of their trailers to Europe and as far away as Australia earning them the King’s Award for Enterprise in 2023 for export sales growth. As well as open and enclosed car trailers, the company make flatbed trailers, tipper trailers and plant trailers for the transport of mini diggers, dumpers and machinery.
‘We continue to innovate’ adds Lewis ‘and have exciting new products in the pipeline that we believe will further enhance our premium position in the marketplace.’
